This declaration summarises the principles followed for the handling of personal data and other third party data arising from use of the website 'www.mein-autolexikon.de' or provided by the user.
The first priority is compliance with the German and European data protection regulations. The association VREI e.V. endeavours to not only meet the statutory provisions governing data protection, but also aims to follow the recommendations of recognised bodies for voluntary self-control in the field of data protection.
2. Personal and other data
Personal data refers to specific information about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person; other data in the context of this statement are all information not of a personal nature acquired by VREI e.V. during use of its website. If in doubt, information shall be considered as personal data; this shall particularly apply to e-mail addresses.
VREI e.V. undertakes to collect personal data only in accordance with the statutory provisions. Other data shall generally be collected by VREI e.V. in the form normally used by web servers to store connectivity information. This includes the date of access, the site or file accessed, the browser software used and the user's IP address. ? Other data are not used to determine the identity of the user. Any further processing and analysis of other data shall only take place anonymously, e.g. for statistical purposes, to correct errors or to investigate in cases of attempted hacking. Statistical purposes also include what is known as clickstream analysis, which allows VREI e.V. to examine user behaviour on its website.
No transfer of personal data, i.e. communication to third parties, will take place. Exceptions to this are transfers to authorised government bodies on request and transfers to the criminal justice authorities in the event of misuse of the website.
5. Data processing abroad
VREI e.V. reserves the right to operate servers located outside the territory of the states of the European Union. VREI e.V. guarantees that data stored on these servers will receive the same level of protection as in Germany and the European Union.
6. Technical data protection
VREI e.V. ensures that its servers comply with the latest security standards. Insofar as this is technically appropriate, secure transmission channels (SSL connections) are provided for the collection of personal data. In addition, staff and third parties responsible for technical system maintenance are subject to an obligation of non-disclosure imposed on them by VREI e.V.
7. Right of information
Where VREI e.V. has collected personal data, it undertakes to provide information about the stored data on request. This can also be provided via an automated process provided that misuse of data can be excluded.
